Vehicles we accept in Austin

Cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, boats, RVs — running or not, clean title or complicated.

At Ride Forward, we believe that every vehicle has the potential to make a difference in our community. That's why we accept nearly any car, truck, or other vehicles, regardless of their condition. Whether your ride is drivable or not, your donation can help fund our vital benefits-research service, connecting local residents with crucial programs like SNAP, Texas Medicaid, and more. With our hassle-free process, you can support your neighbors while getting rid of an unused vehicle that's taking up space. Let’s work together to turn your vehicle into a valuable resource for Austin residents in need.

Categories we accept

Cars & Sedans
1995-present

Typically, cars and sedans are sold at auction or through direct sale, often fetching a decent return. If they aren’t running well, they can be parted out or recycled for materials.

Austin's diverse neighborhoods see many sedans on the roads, and your donation can help support local residents looking for assistance.

Pickup Trucks
2000-present

Pickup trucks are often in high demand, whether for parts or restoration projects. Donating a truck can help fund local programs while providing reliable transport options for those in need.

With Austin’s active outdoor lifestyle, your donated truck could help a local community member transport goods, move furniture, or embark on weekend adventures.

SUVs & Crossovers
1998-present

SUVs and crossovers can be sold at auction or reconditioned for resale, helping to enhance our funding for community services. Even non-running SUVs can be recycled.

Austin families often rely on larger vehicles for daily errands; your donation could provide essential transportation to those facing challenges.

Motorcycles
2000-present

Motorcycles are often sold to enthusiasts or stripped for parts. The unique nature of these vehicles can fetch good prices at auction, directly benefitting local residents.

Austin is known for its motorcycle culture; your donation could help support fellow riders and drivers in our vibrant community.

RVs & Campers
1995-present

RVs and campers can be auctioned off or sold for parts, providing significant funding opportunities. They often attract adventurous buyers looking to hit the road.

RVs are a favorite among Austin’s outdoor enthusiasts, making your donation a gateway for community members to explore the Texas landscape.

Boats
1990-present

Boats can be sold at auction or salvaged, generating funds while helping to recycle valuable materials. Many local buyers seek these for leisure activities.

Austin's proximity to lakes makes boat donations particularly impactful, connecting community members with water-based recreational opportunities.

Commercial Vehicles
1995-present

Commercial vehicles are often sold to small businesses or used in refurbishing projects, with proceeds going directly to local funding initiatives.

With Austin’s thriving small business scene, your donation could help empower entrepreneurs needing reliable transportation for their operations.

Non-running Vehicles
Any year

Even vehicles that don’t run can be accepted; they are typically sold for parts or recycled, ensuring every donation has a positive impact.

Austin residents have a variety of vehicles; your non-running car can still help neighbors in need while reducing waste.

Condition guide

When considering donating your vehicle to Ride Forward, it's important to understand the various conditions a vehicle can be in. Running vehicles, of course, are ideal and can be sold at auction or directly to buyers. However, we also accept non-running vehicles and salvage titles. Non-running cars can still be valuable in terms of parts or recycling, contributing to our mission of supporting local families.

That said, not every vehicle qualifies. Vehicles with severe damage, excessive rust, or missing crucial components may be declined. We encourage potential donors to reach out and discuss their vehicle's condition so we can assess its viability for donation.
