How we started
In 2019, a dedicated group of Austinites noticed a heartbreaking problem: many hardworking neighbors were eligible for essential benefits but weren’t enrolled. Despite a wealth of resources available in our vibrant city, barriers like transportation access meant that thousands missed out on programs like SNAP, Texas Medicaid, and WIC. This insight sparked the birth of Ride Forward, a community-driven initiative to bridge that gap.
We understood that vehicle donation could serve as a sustainable funding source for our mission. Each car donated became a vital resource to help our neighbors not only understand their eligibility but also access crucial benefits.
